CDI Alliance, which was set up in July 2011 to deliver economic sector development and business support activity, has won a major contract in South Yorkshire.

This month CDI Alliance signed a contract with Sheffield City Council to launch and project manage a new business support initiative, the CDI New Opportunities Programme, on behalf of Creative Sheffield (the economic development organisation for Sheffield City Council). The first Lincolnshire Digital Business Cluster networking event took place at Oak House in Lincoln on 24 January 2012. Stuart McFarlane from CDI Alliance opened the meeting by explaining the objectives of the project and posing three questions.

Businesses have witnessed and contributed to the recent connectivity and economic growth debate about the High Speed 2 (HS2) and how it is a priority investment to join London with Birmingham and then HS2 links to Leeds and Manchester. We know there is already a commitment to widen the M1 with peak time use of the hard shoulder to improve transport logistics and to reduce business costs and delays.
