Lincolnshire businesses glimpse digital future

The second Onlincolnshire Digital Conference – #GoDigital15 – took place at The Showroom on Tritton Road in Lincoln yesterday – 10th March. The conference offered Lincolnshire businesses the opportunity to find out more about future technologies that will impact on their operations over the next few years.
Exhibitors included local companies already working with digital technologies and a team from the five Onlincolnshire Technology Hubs in Lincoln, Mabelthorpe, Louth, Horncastle and Boston. The Hubs brought along a range of equipment for delegates to try including 3D printers, virtual reality hardware, 3D scanners and examples of the products they can be used to produce.
The Onlincolnshire conference team led by Charlotte Baxter from Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry supported by Stuart McFarlane from CDI Alliance who chaired the conference programme had put together a series of excellent speakers. Both local and national names, these included Lincoln based Epix Media, BT’s research arm and Jason Bradbury from Channel 5’s Gadget Show. In addition there was a presentation from Mike Poole on the work being undertaken by the Technology Hubs and John Owen launched the new Business Lincolnshire E-Learning Portal.

In the afternoon a series of workshops were available for delegates to explore aspects of the way in which digital technology can improve the way we do business from the use of social media through to issues of legal compliance and cyber security.
