CDI Alliance to support growing creative businesses in North East Lincolnshire

We are soon to begin local business development activities in the Grimsby area after being appointed by the Cultural Development Fund for North East Lincolnshire Council. Grimsby Creates will be a fantastic addition to our existing programmes in Yorkshire and Humber.

We will be working with creative industries including architecture, IT, fashion, photography, theatre and TV. With our specialism in Creative, Digital and Innovation, we are thrilled to be making a difference to these kinds of businesses.

In the past, we have successfully partnered with Screen Yorkshire and Creative Sheffield to strengthen the businesses of filmmakers and other creators in ways that enriches the region.

Now, together with Sector Support North East Lincolnshire, Event Show Support CIC, Docks Academy and Centre4, we will deliver showcase and specialist events, networking opportunities, mentoring activities, and individual business support.

This is a valuable opportunity for micro businesses, SMEs, freelancers and the self-employed to access the resources they need to help them grow. Whether it’s hearing from local creative entrepreneurs who have been in their position or gaining concrete advice on how to handle HR, finance or marketing matters, the programme could be game-changing for those who are facing challenges when scaling up.

In addition to businesses, our activities will also support students in the region. Our associates will be on hand to give online mentoring to those interested in pursuing a creative career. We will also be delivering talks and workshops to complement what’s on offer on campus.

For students considering starting a creative business themselves, we will be helping them develop their skills so they can hit the ground running.

As we empower creative businesses in North East Lincolnshire, we are confident that we will contribute to Grimsby’s cultural offering. With the rich talent in our region upskilled through our activities, we look forward to seeing what they produce.
