Every business should have a Hannah
I meet plenty of business leaders and owners and I often ask what their biggest hurdle is to achieving their ambition.
The most common answer is that they don’t have enough time to do what they need to do and that all facets of the business pull them in different directions, with anything not picked up by their colleagues ultimately landing on their desk.
While I cannot create time, one thing I advise is only do the things that only you can do.
What that means is that as a business leader or owner you must focus your time on the big decisions, strategies and direction of the business, as only you can do it.
Identify what you can outsource
You must learn to identify activities within your business that can be done by others.
As an example, we historically were struggling setting time aside for social media posting and sometimes on reacting projects quickly as we didn’t have the best system or process in place.
Over 18 months ago we contracted Hannah as our Virtual Assistant who now not only looks after our social media channels but is also a key member of the programme delivery team ensuring our administration, processes, and communications are consistent across all our programmes.
With all this activity sorted and running well both Deborah and I, co-directors of CDI alliance can find time to focus “on” the business as against always working “in” the business.
You can create time, just focus on doing what only you can do.
